WHAT IS PAT TESTING?
Visual inspection
This is a thorough examination of wear and tear, and checking the plug meets current BS1363 guidelines, fuse rating is appropriate for the load, cables and switches are sound and in good condition, and the body of the appliance shows no cracks, scalds or weakness
Electrical check
A specialised PAT testing machine is used to conduct electronic tests:
- Earth continuity
- Insulation resistance
- Lead polarity
Our testing machine is calibrated and certified every year.
Logging
To give customers confidence that the appliance is safe, a PASS label is attached.
A report is provided detailing all tests conducted and kept on file for 2 years.
Any items that fail will either be offered for repair or labelled with a FAIL label and made safe for recycling
